ONE PLUS 5 VS ONE PLUS 3T: QUICK COMPARISON
ONE PLUS 5 VS ONE PLUS 3T: QUICK COMPARISON
Its been seven month for One Plus when they launched their previous flagship One Plus 3T and after seven months we are getting to see their new flagship cellphone named as One Plus 5. People were eagerly waiting for the launch of One Plus 5 and finally chinese manufacturer One Plus launched their flagship cellphone One Plus 5 on 22nd June 2017 in India. They announced lots of features during the launch so we are here to compare those features of One Plus 5 with its predecessor One Plus 3T and is it worth to upgrade from One Plus 3T to One Plus 5. Let's do a Quick Comarison.
DESIGN
Design of the One Plus 5 is not much different from its predecessor One Plus 3T. The Built quality and Unibody design concept is same in both the cellphone. Both the cellphone gets the metallic body and they share some of the hardware elements.
- From the back panel One Plus 5 is more cleaner and smoother than the One Plus 3T with the new crescent antenna lines that blends in. We also get to see a Dual camera feature which was not available on its predecessor and the One Plus logo is as usual on the back panel of the cell phone. The physical overview of One Plus 5 is almost same as its predecessor.
- On the front panel the fingerprint sensor is placed at the same place on the home button like it was placed on the One Plus 3T and also we get to see a secondary camera of 16 MP.
- On the side lines of the cellphone we get the as usual Volume Rockers, Power button and an Alert Slider that we have already seen on One Plus 3T.
We admit that the looks of the One Plus 5 is very much similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. This is the point where One Plus makes us sad that they would have done better job to make their flagship more better than any other cellphone in terms of design.
But One Plus 5 does better job than its competitors in matter of hold and gripping of the cellphone. The design of the One Plus 5 is more sleek than the previous flagship One Plus 3T.
HARDWARE
Both the Cellphone gets the 5.5" AMOLED Display with a 1080p resolution. As it is their one of the most powerful cellphone they must have given the Quad HD to their users but it seems that it will take time for the One Plus to come to the Quad HD but still the price point at which we get this cellphone we should not expect Quad HD from One Plus.
In matter of processors, One Plus 3T was based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 which was the fastest processor at that time when One Plus 3T was launched, but the the One Plus 5 is even faster than the One Plus 3T because it operates on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
The One Plus 5 comes up with two variants 6/8 GB of RAM while the One Plus 3T came up with only 6 GB of RAM which is still sufficient for better performance today also.
One Plus 5 comes up with a storage of 64/128 GB respectively while the One Plus 3T came up with only 64 GB of storage. One Plus gets plenty of storage but it does not support the External Memory Card Slot.
One Plus 3T gets the 3,400 mAh of battery while the One Plus 5 gets the 3,300 mAh of battery which is slightly smaller but it is 25% more power-efficient than the predecessor because of the smart architecture of the Snapdragon 835 which actually consumes less and performes more than the Snapdragon 821, while both the cellphone supports One Plus's Dash Charge Technology.
CAMERA
The rear camera of One Plus 3T was 16 MP but for One Plus 5 manufacturers decided to give a rear Dual Camera with 16 MP and 20 MP for more perfect and awesome shots than One Plus 3T. Both the cellphone gets the 16 MP of front-facing camera for crystal clear selfies.
SOFTWARE
The One Plus 3T and One Plus 5 both operates on the same Operating System that is company's own Oxygen OS which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
