OVERVIEW

The American manufacturer United Motors aka UM motors recently launched Renegade Commando Classic in India which will be a rival against Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350. Looks like UM is trying to expand their cruiser segment with an aggressive price-point and wanna give a very tough fight to king of this segment in Royal Enfield.

DESIGN

In terms of design UM Renegade Commando Classic looks marvellous and we have to say that UM motors did a very great job in color combination specially the Copper Cream color. The design of Um Renegade Commando Classic is partly inspired by Renegade Commando. The chrome finishing on the Renegade Commando Classic makes it more premium, the chrome exhaust will be the center of attraction to make the viewers to turn around and look at bike again and again. 

Meanwhile, UM tried to make Renegade Commando Classic looks like baby Indian and we have to say they did decent job, same how they tried to make Renegade Sport S look like an Intruder.

ENGINE

UM Renegade Commando Classic is powered by 279.5cc 4-stroke Single Cylinder Liquid-Cooled Engine which produces 25.15 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 23 NM of toque at 7000 RPM configured with 6-speed Gearbox.

DIMENSION

UM Renegade Commando Classic has kerb weight of 179kg which makes it 13kg lighter than its rival Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 and 24kg more than the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise being an 279.5cc bike this weight is pretty decent against its rivals.

The Overall length, width and height is 2257 mm, 780 mm, 1350 mm respectively, has a wheelbase of 1545 mm and Ground Clearance of 200 mm. The UM Renegade Commando Classic has Fuel tank capacity of 18 Litres.

BRAKES & SUSPENSION

BRAKES

The UM Renegade Commando Classic has a Front brake of 280mm disc with 2 Piston Caliper  and has Rear brake of 130mm Drum brake.

SUSPENSION

UM Renegade Commando Classic has a Front Suspension of 41mm Hydraulic Telescope and has a Rear Suspension of Twin Hydraulic with Spring. These suspension setup will make good amount of comfortable ride on a cruiser.

RICH GLOSS CHROME

The UM Renegade Commando Classic comes with a high quality 45+ micron rich gloss. The chromed exhaust gives a royal look and makes the bike strong to stand with grattitude.

COMFORTABLE SEATING

The UM Renegade Commando Classic gets a premium cushion aluminium backrest which will make the pillion comfortable for long and safe rides.

WINDSHIELD

Unlike its predecessors and rival, the UM Renegade Commando Classic gets an high quality windshield which will allow the rider to avoid wind blast and make the rider to do long rides comfortably.

  

SADDLEBAG

The UM Renegade Commando Classic also gets a premium saddlebag to make the ride comfortable and to make proper balance so that rider won't be worried about the luggage. The saddlebags are not too big they quite decent and will do good job for decent long rides. We won't recommend you very long rides with this saddle bag for rides like Ladakh, beacause it won't handle much amount of goods for rides like those and you will have to install custom saddlebags or panniers for your long trips.
