OVERVIEW
The Italian Two-Wheeler manufacturer Ducati finally launched SuperSport and SuperSport S in India on 22 September 2017. The purpose of making this beast is to focus on the riders for those who are attracted towards a Sports tourer and want there bike to tour for thousand's of kilometers with great power impact with great sportier feel. This bike will compete against 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and old but much capable to compete Suzuki GSX S-1000F.
DESIGN
In terms of design Ducati Supersport is inspired by Ducati 959 Panigale. But the design is quite adjusted to give a comfortable ride. The design of the bike features raised-clip on handle bars and slightly rearset footepegs for sportier but comfortable riding posture.
Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S offers same styled twin-headlamps like 959 Panigale with integrated DRLs
The bike also gets adjustable windscreen one of the similar feature that 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 has. Overall Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S looks impressively aggressive with stance offering great comfortability. The stance of the bike looks nimble and suites as a tourer sport.
ENGINE
ENGINE: DUCATI SUPERSPORT AND SUPERSPORT S
Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S both the variants are powered by 937cc Liquid cooled Twin cylinder, TestaStretta 11degree engine which was debuted on Ducati Hypermotard. The L-Twin engine develops power of 110PS at 9500 rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. The engine is mated with 6-speed gearbox while the SuperSport S has 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down.
CHASSIS & DIMENSION
The all new Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S has Tubular steel trellis frame attached to chylinder heads and has 184kg of Dry weight and 210kg of Kerb weight.
It has a seat height of 810mm and wheelbase of 1478mm. Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S has fuel capacity of 16litre.
BRAKES & SUSPENSION
BRAKES: DUCATI SUPERSPORT AND SUPERSPORT S
The Front brake of the Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S has 12.6 inch of semi-floating discs, radially mounted Monobloc Brembo M4-32, 4-piston, radial pump with ABS as Standard on Rear it has 9.6 inch disc, 2 piston caliper and ABS as Standard.
SUSPENSION: DUCATI SUPERSPORT AND SUPERSPORT S
The all new Ducati SuperSport has Front Suspension of Fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi forks and Rear Suspension of Progressive linkage with adjustable Sachs monoshock with Aluminium single-sided swingarm.
While, the Ducati SuperSport S has Front Suspension of Fully adjustable 43mm Ohlins forks and Rear Suspension of Progressive linkage with fully adjustable Ohlins monoshock with Aluminium single-sided swingarm.
This difference of Suspension between the Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S is the main reason for hike in the price-point of of Ducati SuperSport S because the Ohlins Suspensions are really very superb and are damn costly.
FEATURES & COLOURS
In terms of features, the Italian manufacturer Ducati has offered Ducati Safety Pack (ABS+DTC) 8-Level Traction Control, Ride by Wire, 3-Level Bosch ABS Unit as Standard.
The features that are offered are very common between SuperSport and SuperSport S and these are the features that Ducati has to offer.
Colours:-
Ducati SuperSport is available only in one colour: Ducati Red with Ducati Red Frame and Matte Black Wheels.
While, Ducati SuperSport S is available in two colour options: Star White Silk Fairing with Ducati Red Frame and Glossy Red Wheels and Ducati Red Fairing with Ducati Red Frame and Matte Black Wheels.
COMPETITORS
The all new Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S will stand against 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and Suzuki GSX-S 1000F in the India two-wheeler market.
