XIOAMI REDMI Y2 LAUNCHED IN INDIA AT ₹9,999 FOR 3GB RAM+32GB INTERNAL STORAGE VARIANT AND ₹12,999 FOR 4GB RAM+64GB INTERNAL STORAGE VARIANT

Xiaomi India launched its Redmi Y2 in India in two variants 3GB RAM+32GB Internal Storage and 4GB RAM+64GB Internal Storage for ₹9,999 and ₹12,999 respectively on 7th June 2018 in New Delhi. Redmi Y2 is a successor of Redmi S1 launched in China previously and it is named as Redmi S2 in China. Meanwhile, you get the same cellphone Redmi S2 with the different name as Redmi Y2. This is what called rebadging.

DESIGN

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has adpoted the same design concept of Redmi Note 5 Pro with the same metallic built quality and vertical camera lens and fingerprint scanner behind the body which makes it exactly identical to Redmi Note 5 Pro but with a different antenna line style. Redmi Y2 is very sleek in design and gets a good build quality for which Xiaomi is well known for.

DISPLAY

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes with 5.99-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, 18:9 display ratio with the resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels at a pixel desity of 269 pixel-per-inch (ppi).

ANDROID PLATFORM & MEMORY

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Operating System. the phone is powered by 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 with 3GB and 4GB RAM variant which ensures phone will run smoothly and perform set of multiple tasking of applications easily. It also has 32GB and 64GB Internal Storage with dedicated 256GB external SD card support. 

CAMERA

Camera is the main highlight of Xiaomi Redmi Y2 because it has AI (Artificial Intelligence) front camera.
 Primary Dual Camera:12 MP (f/2.2)+5 MP, gyro EIS(Electronic Image Stabilization),phase detection, LED Flash. 

Secondary Camera: 16MP AI (f/2.0) with selfie light, 4 in 1 Pixel binning technique, Automatic HDR and Precise bokeh effect and has wide-angle lens of 79.9degree.

COMMUNICATION

In terms of communication the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct hotspot. Bluetooth version 4.1 A2DP LE. It also supports the Infrared port, FM Radio and a micro USB 2.0. Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is a Dual-sim compatible smartphone.

The highlighting features of Xiaomi Redmi Y2 are Face detection unlock,  Artificial Intelligence based 16MP selfie camera with LED Flash, dedicated external storage of 256GB, 18:9 aspect ratio display.

BATTERY

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is powered by Non-removable Li-Po 3080mAh battery wich we think slightly underrated as comapred to Xiaomi's other budget oriented smartphone. Xiaomi usually gives atleast 4,100mAh battery to its other cellphones which makes us think that battery will drain out quickly as per the specification of the phone and will hardly survive for one entire working days which is set of easy task for other Xiaomi's.
